Ice Rolling
MY FACE DID NOT WAKE UP LIKE THIS!
ICE THERAPY FOR CALMING INFLAMMATION
If you’ve ever suffered from eczema or an inflammatory skin condition, the heat that radiates off you is often intense and debilitating! Ice rolling is a ritual I've used for years to keep inflamed skin calm and eliminate stagnant fluid.
My first tip… don’t put ice-cubes or ice directly onto your skin! This can be damaging, especially if you're already inflamed. I know there are a few “Ice Roller” products out there that use frozen water to directly touch your skin, however this kind of product and technique is only suitable for people who already have a balanced skin barrier, and definitely no major inflammatory concerns.
Instead, I would suggest using an ice cold facial roller, such as The Skinny Confidential Hot Mess Ice Roller. The application of an ice cold roller boosts circulation and brings fresh blood to the skins surface, helping restore radiance and encourages optimum cellular function.
My personal favourite benefit from this technique? The instant reduction of puffiness on my face, which is attributed to cold temperatures helping to remove excess fluid and decrease inflammation. Hello sculpted face in a few minutes!
KEY BENEFITS
helps with the lymphatic system
contours your facial features
reduces redness, swelling and irritation
minimises the appearance open pores
de-puffs and reduces inflammation in minutes
great after waxing, surgery or injury and can be used anywhere on the body
The reason “The Skinny Confidential” Ice roller is my go to is because the roller itself is made from aluminium which retains the coolness for longer so I can stay in my beauty ritual just a little longer and reap the de-puffing benefits.

HOW TO USE IT
Keep in the freezer for around 15 minutes before you want to use it. Once removed, always test on your arm to see if the temperature is ok for your face. If it feels too fresh for you, start by popping it in the fridge instead and work your way up to the freezer over time.
My favourite time to use mine is in the morning as it instantly wakes me up and de-puffs, however in summer I find it is a great addition for an evening routine to help combat the puffiness from the heat during the course of the day.
When using within a skincare routine, always use it at the start of your routine, with a clean face and apply all skincare after you have finished using the roller.
Roll in an upwards motion to aid in lymphatic flow and lifting the facial features.
HOT TIP
If you love a sheet mask, apply your sheet mask first and use the ice roller over the top of the mask… heaven!
Happy rolling!
